The First Gold Medal Award given to IGEA – A CBO Mr. Jediel Maingi had registered. In 2006 IGEA was the best in tree planting under community organizations courtesy of TOTAL Eco-challenge. The awards Gala was held in Hotel Intercontinental, Nairobi (Daily Nation Paper, 27th October, 2006; Pages – Weekend 8 & 9).
The Second Gold Medal Award given to IGEA in 2007 after planting the highest number of seedlings both in Kenyan and Sudan Schools. The Gala awards night was held at Carnivore Hotel, Nairobi. The event was covered in Daily Nation Newspaper of 25th October, 2007; Pages 36 & 37.
A very special award given to IGEA CBO at Carnivore Hotel (Simba Salon) for consistently planting hundreds of thousands trees in 2008. Others in this category were: Safaricom, Brookside Dairies, Unilever Tea, Egerton University & BAT. The awards Gala was held in Hotel Carnivore, Nairobi. (Standard Paper, 13th November, 2008; Pages 28 & 29).
A trophy awarded to Mr. Jediel Maingi of IGEA/Forestry Clubs of Kenya in 2010 having designed a very viable and sustainable institutionalized tree planting model. The program is called Green Schools Model later adopted by Government and launched by the President in Michinda Primary School on 7th December, 2013.

A sample nursery in one of the schools in Meru (Mwerongundu Pri. School) by Mr. Jediel Maingi of IGEA/FCK. Schools are facilitated to establish woodlots for wood products especially firewood, timber, posts etc.

A Sample community nursery holding 40,000 indigenous seedlings by the Catholic Church, Meru Diocese. The seedlings were planted in Nyambene Water Tower to both Conserve and restore the important water catchment zone.
Mr. Jediel Maingi took Meru farmers for an exchange program to Mwala (Machakos) to familiarize on Dryland Water harvesting by use of surface runoff. Maingi organized the trip funded by PLAN International NGO.
